Halloween candies: 5 Best and 5 Worst for your health

Halloween is here and it means nothing more than buying our new colorful and unique costumes, trick or treat parties for kids and of course.. CANDIES...!!!!


Yahoo News recently  compiled a list of the 5 best and worst Halloween candies as it pertains to your health! The research is from "My Health News Daily" and they said while most candy provides zero benefits, there are some that are better than others.

THE BEST - (All have no fat and are 'relatively' low in calories and sugar)

• Blow Pops (1 pop)
• Gobstoppers (9 pieces)
• Pixy Stix (7 straws)
• Candy Corn (19 pieces)

THE WORST - (All are high in calories, sugar, fat and saturated fat)

Facebook credits at Walmart and Best Buy stores

Retail giants Walmart and Best Buy are now targeting the growing social media consumers by having Facebook credits gift cards available on their shelves. This is going to be a perfect holiday gift as we approach the holiday gift-giving season as well as perfect alternative if you're not a paypal-or-credit-card-type of buyer online.

Denominations are  available at $5, $10 and $25 for Walmart while Best Buy sells them in $10, $25, and $50.
Look out for Facebook Credits gift cards and use them to buy premium items in your favorite games and apps.

H&M boxers and jeans post

The weather in San Francisco last weekend was fairly nice compared to last few visits I made in the city. I went to H&M in Union Square on Saturday and found these cool character-themed boxer briefs. Hulk, Superman, Ironman or even Mickey Mouse - they have lots of designs for you to choose from.

GQ goes "Glee"Q

Lad mag GQ is making a buzz with its sexy "Glee"-themed November cover. The photo featuring three stars of the hit tv series Cory Monteith, Lea Michele and Dianna Agron in a scantily clad bootylicious embrace. After hitting the web, the photos stirred controversies and backlash led by Parents Television Council. Some had raised concerns over the photos' appropriateness as the stars involved are playing high school students in the said show.

One thing I know for sure is clear, Glee will gain more viewership - courtesy of the G'lee'Qs department.

Hangover 2 is on the works but Stu's stripper-wife is out!

We all know that the first part was really successful and a surprise box-office smash. Well, Hangover 2, the sequel to one of my favorite comedies ever (and sure you do too) is beginning production, with a scheduled  release for May 2011. Unfortunately, Heather Graham will not be back in the film to reprise her stripper-wife role Jade. 
I will join any online protest out there to make her character back in the sequel. Any takers?

While Heather Graham will not be back, there is a new big name added to the cast, and that is no other than....(drum rooooooolllllllll...).... 

Apple's iPad will be available in Verizon stores next week

Apple just made an announcement on Thursday regarding the deal with Verizon wireless as Apple is in plans to increase the iPad sales in the holiday shopping season. 

There is also news that, Verizon is in discussions with Apple to sell the Apple iPhones. Currently, Apple iPad’s and Apple iPhones are available only in the AT&T which is good news for most iPhone users who are having difficulties in getting good signals on their AT&T mobile device.

I once lived in a basement of my apartment and was lucky if my iPhone would've get at least a bar of an AT&T signal. Also, last year during a trip to New York, I hardly get a signal in most of NY's subways while my friend's  Verizon phone got a full bar of signal, but in all fairness, AT&T is now investing on cell sites in an effort to address issues like these from their customers.

Verizon will begin selling the iPad directly to customers on October 28, 2010 according to a note on the carrier's Web site. Verizon is offering the Wi-Fi only, non-3G version of the device at Apple's suggested retail prices

                  64GB = 699 

Three Wi-Fi models of the Apple iPad will be available in the Verizon Wireless stores from October 28. Also, there is a Verizon bundle ( iPad WiFi + Verizon's MiFi) avalable which ranges from $629 for the 16-gigabyte (GB) iPad to $829 for the 64 GB model.

The iPad has become one of the hottest selling gadgets in tech industry history since Apple introduced it on April 3rd. Apple sold 300,000 of the devices the first day they were on sale, and more than 2 million units in the first 80 days of availability.

Experts believe that Apple is going to be top in sales this holiday shopping season.

Another Chilean miners rescue news

...and it's an online game inspired by the rescue of the 33 rescued Chilean miners -
Chilean tech and design firm Root33 has made a playable Flash game called Los 33 in which you rescue the Chilean miners trapped underground. This interesting game allows you to rotate the wheel to move the Fenix escape capsule up and down, pick up each miner (by name by the way) then roll it again to bring them back to safety from the underground amid the cheering crowd. Flash programmer Felipe Leon, who made the program, reported that the page have thousands of unique visitors each day. If you wanna try, you can play it for free at http://root33.cl/los33.

Big Bang Fashion style

If you  are not familiar with them (yet), Big Bang is a South Korean pop boy band who are best known for their upbeat and edgy hip-hop and r&b-ish type of music. They have a huge number of following in Asia especially from South Korea and Japan. Aside from their music, this korean hip-hop group is also known for their undeniably unique sense and style when it comes to fashion be it urban wear, casual or formal attire wearing them designer clothes.

Camera lens mug - I want!

There's a new way to enjoy your coffee break. If you haven't read or heard of it yet, they are camera-lens-inspired coffee thermo mugs. I think they're very cool, they're very detailed and when capped, even the most professional photographer can confuse it with the real lens. They come in different sizes but I think I might get some caffeine jitters though if I use the big, zoom-lens size. Ok, I smell coffee - it's time for my coffee break!

Modern Typewriters

I ran across USB Typewriter etsy online shop and I was amazed! Some genius has created a Converter chip that turns the typewriter into a modern keyboard. How impressive! This fully-functional keyboard  can actually be used into your IPad and into any usb-port enabled workstations. Those who have started or more comfortable in using typewriter as their medium of writing have definitely enough reason to celebrate.

First trip

     Since moving to California from upper State, I have never been to any of the shopping centers here in my area just because I'd rather want my extra time of the day be spent by going to gym or stay at home. 
     Last Saturday I finally found a reason to go out and unwind to what was become my first trip to our local Macy's store. I will be honest that I'm a very cheap guy so I always prefer great deals and items for sales whenever I shop and luckily for me, I was able to find great items. 
    With the $9 racks of different clothing items, I was able to buy clothes that are mostly usable next summer. Not bad if they are Tommy's, Buffalo's and Nautica's. 
    Now being we're in a middle of spring season, practically speaking, it is but the proper time you buy those outfits you want to parade in the next summer season.
    Overall, it was a worthy money saving trip and I'll definitely coming back soon. 
    So hit your local shopping store and you'll be surprise on great deals you may find.
